Former Rep. Scott Stone has received overwhelming support for many of the current and former elected officials from the various towns in northern Mecklenburg County. Several mayors and commissioners from the Towns of Huntersville, Cornelius, and Davidson have given their support Stone’s campaign for Lieutenant Governor. North Mecklenburg has been a Republican stronghold with a large volume of GOP primary voters.
Stone served with Rep. John Bradford and Sen. Jeff Tarte in the North Carolina General Assembly. They know that he will be able to hit the ground running as Lieutenant Governor in his role as presiding officer of the NC Senate. Among the other North Meck leaders backing Stone are Huntersville Mayor John Aneralla and Cornelius Mayor Woody Washam.
