Scott Stone was sworn in as a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives this week following his November election. He continues the service that started last spring when he was appointed by Gov. McCrory to a vacancy. He represents District 105 of southern Mecklenburg County.
In the ceremonial activity that officially launched the 2017 “Long Session” the 120 House and 50 Senate member of the North Carolina General Assembly took the oath of office. With a 74-member majority in the House, Republicans selected the Chamber’s leadership for the biennium session, including electing Speaker Tim Moore to another term. As most members were joined by family members for the day, Scott’s oldest daughter made the short trip from UNC Chapel Hill to be at her dad’s side.
